RSA and AES Encryption For Body Camera

RSA is an asymmetric cryptographic algorithm to encrypt and decrypt message. Asymmetric means that there are two different keys- Public Key to encrypt data while Private Key to decrypt data. However, RSA is not suitable for large data, such as Video.

AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) is a symmetric block cipher to protect classified information. It use only one key to encrypt and decrypt the data(Video). So, it is not secure to keep the key by hardware provider.

Considering both encryption advantage. Our engineering team combines these Two methods, and put into use in our latest body camera. End user can keep their private key, which is the only one can view video encrypted by random code.  This is the most secure camera in the world.

Also, we developed dedicated software to view the encrypted video. What’s more, it supports track playback function.

INTERTECCDS H.265 Body Worn Camera Available Soon

 

 

IntertecCDS development team will release a new version for body camera at next month. The new camera will support H.265 function. HEVC(H.265) is an extension of the concepts in H.264/MPEG-4. H.265 offers essentially the same level of picture quality as H.264, but with more efficient code, so the size of video will be smaller. In other words, a 32GB version can save more video files.

 

Unlike H.264 macroblocks, H.265 processes information in Coding Tree Units (CTUs). CTUs can process as many as 64×64 blocks, Whereas macroblocks can span 16×16 block sizes. The ability of HEVC compress information more efficiently.

INTERTECCDS engineering team develop AES256 feature in body worn camera. 256-bit AES encryption (Advance Encryption Standard) is an International standard which ensures data is encrypted/decrypted following this approved standard. It ensures high security and is adopted by the U.S. government and other intelligence organizations across the world.

With AES256 technology, all video in the body worn camera (BWC) has been encrypted. User has to view the video with a password and a special player.

When an officer is going to buy a new body worn camera for himself,  the following things must be considered necessarily:

• Video Quality:

Most of body camera support 1080/ 30fps. Some sellers even claim their cameras with 1296P.  However, there is no significant difference between these 2 resolutions. In addition, camera with sensor 4MP is better than 2MP. You may see a  clear 1080P video and a worse one which is also 1080P resolution, because they are recorded by different sensors. Instead of asking what video resolustion, it would be better to ask sellers what is the sensor and CPU.

• Pricing:

Besides body camera, please also consider other cost of accessories. Such as memory card capacity, external camera, PPT cable, multi-dock station and management software. You must weigh all of these factors before deciding the most suitable body worn camera.

• Size and weight:

No one is willing to carry a heavy device for a whole day. Especially, there are many additional devices mounted onto officers’ vests. A suitable body camera should not be more than 150 grams and 90mmx60mmx25mm.

• Battery life:

Base on 150 grams, the body worn camera should be able to record 10 hours continuously at 720P.  After 300-500 cycles, user have to change they battery in order to maintain recording hours.

• Easy to use:

Cameras should contain no more than 4 buttons. Moreover, record button must be as plain as the nose on people’s face.

• Aftersales Service:

In some case, body worn cameras have such important evidence. Officer may want to have answers to questions in good time. Remote assistance will be the best solution if you buy the cameras from oversea. Ideally, you can get a 12 month warranty from buyer.
